For the first time in recent years, the trade balance for the dairy group of goods for January-October 2022 was positive and amounted to $103.8 million. According to the balance of demand and supply of milk and dairy products in the current year, the forecast of milk production under optimistic scenarios may be 7, 5 million tons. This will allow in the current conditions to provide each person with 199 kg of milk products.
Currently, the Government has developed a whole package of financial support tools specifically for farms in the dairy and processing industries. The head of the Department of Livestock and Tribal Affairs of the Department of Agrarian Development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Olena Dadus, told about this on the air of an informational marathon on "Suspilny". According to her, the emphasis was placed on family farms, as it is most difficult for them to fully conduct their activities in the current conditions.
" In particular, we are talking about Resolution No. 739, which provides an opportunity to receive financial support for the creation of processing facilities, including milk processing. As well as Resolution No. 918, which approved the procedure for providing a budget subsidy to farmers for the herd of cows in the amount of UAH 5,300 per cow. We already have more than 37,000 farms that have registered for this program through the state agrarian register," said Olena Dadus.
She also added that people who are in the de-occupied territories and who could not purchase food packages in the amount of more than 4 million tons of social packages, which also include long-term dairy products, received them free of charge.
