Retail sales prices and import data from Ghana's National Association of Cattle Farmers indicate that the value of dairy products in Ghana is expected to increase 12.5% from USD 350M in 2021 to USD 400M in 2022, due to increased demand for fresh milk and other dairy products. Despite rising domestic demand, the local dairy industry has been stagnant, resulting in a deficit that has been offset by imports. Domestic fresh milk production in Ghana is underdeveloped, accounting for less than one percent of total dairy market value.
