From August 1 to September 30 of this year, 5.5 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products were shipped through the ports of Greater Odessa on 241 ships. At the same time, about 40% of the cargo left the South port, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reported on October 4.

In August, 1.62 million tons of grain and processed products were exported through the "grain corridor", and in September - 3.9 million tons. Among the cargoes that left the ports of Great Odesa in two months, corn makes up 44%, and the share of wheat exceeds 28%," the message reads. It is also noted that in September, compared to August, the share of corn decreased from 61.4% to 37.2% of all cargoes, mainly due to the rapid growth of shipments of barley, rapeseed, oils and meal. The share of wheat in cargo sent through the corridor, on the contrary, increased from 21.2% in August to 31.3% in September.

During the two months of operation of the corridor, 1.55 million tons of wheat were shipped, of which 72% went to the countries of Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Turkey. Almost 423 thousand tons of wheat were shipped to the countries of the African continent. In particular, 53,300 tons have already been sent to Ethiopia, 51,300 tons to Kenya, 28,500 tons to Somalia, and 65,600 tons to Sudan. The share of African countries in the export of wheat through the grain corridor in the first two months of operation amounted to 27%.

In addition, wheat has already been sent to Afghanistan (2% of grain shipments) and to Yemen (3%).

Turkey's share in Ukrainian wheat trade is 25.6%. This country is one of the largest hubs for the processing of wheat into flour, which will later partially reach countries that are on the verge of starvation. In addition, 210.4 thousand tons of deliveries to Bangladesh have been established, so we hope for a quick return of Ukrainian bread to the markets of countries suffering from hunger, including with the support of the UN World Food Program (WFP)," the ministry emphasized. .
