The world market price of wheat increased until mid-October

According to Tallage's information in October, the world market price of wheat rose between September 9 and October 14, which was contributed to by concerns about the Ukrainian sea corridor, a smaller-than-expected American harvest, and a lower crop potential in Argentina due to drought.

The spot export price of milling wheat arriving in Rouen (FOB) increased by $21 to $355/t in the indicated period. In Germany, the price of the crop at the port (FOB Hamburg) also increased by $4: the spot price was $359, November $361, and December $363/ton. In the USA, red durum wheat with 11 percent protein content immediate delivery winter wheat (HRW) for $447/ton (+$60), November for $435/ton (+$33), December for $403/ton (+$1) ) could trade. The spot market price for red soft winter wheat (SRW) rose to $403/t (+$61) by October 14. In Argentina, the immediate export price of the crop was 380 dollars/ton. At the same time, the immediate export (FOB) price of 12.5 percent protein mill wheat produced in Russia is $18 higher at $328/ton. November was $329/ton. In Romania and Bulgaria, contracts for the crop with immediate delivery could be concluded for USD 353/ton (+ USD 23) at the same time. From the middle of October, however, prices typically began to decrease.

In Hungary, according to AKI PÁIR data, edible wheat was traded at an average producer price of HUF 135,000/ton
without VAT and transport costs in the first week of November. This price level exceeded the previous year by 36 percent. Feed wheat traded for HUF 132.1 thousand/ton (+38 percent) at the same time. On the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT), the settlement price of ISCC NUTS II sustainable fodder wheat for March 2023 was HUF 141,000/ton (-HUF 3,000) between October 31 and November 11.

On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME/CBOT), the December quotation for wheat was between 295 and 332 dollars/ton on the
observed exchange days. At the same time, the December quotation of the crop on the Paris commodity exchange (Euronext/MATIF) decreased to 327 euros/ton.
